Horror Monday

As much as I would like to be patient and tolerant of that particular someone...she's really getting on my nerves.

The situation is getting outta hand. Should I just ask for a transfer to Jurong Island??

This incident has made me realize that there's no free lunch in the world. If I want the luxury of working from the orchard office, I would have to put up with that monster...if I want a nicer partner, it will have to be Jurong Island.

Why do such people exists!?!?! People who go all out to make the life of others miserable. ARGHHHHH...

And I just found out that I will be on yet another job with her in Feb'06.

Dinner the other day with the Chartered peeps made me reminisce the very memorable 2 week stint over there. Granted the hours are inhumane, but the company and the support from the kolics there made it bearable and in a way...worthwhile.

The Chartered jean gang with cheeky DeeDub.

The Women with coordination problems.

The 2 hour long pedicure spa. It was a short trip to heaven.

Friday come quick!!!

Jiang Hua Yu

Let me sneak a quick entry in between my work.

Baby's got a new job. Working for Uncle Sam Lee though..and since its such a sensitive ministry...i shall just not talk about it anymore. I don't fancy myself being in court for the slightest disclosure of classified information.

No...he's not Signing On like many of the desperate jobless guys. Thank goodness...I guess I'm not into guys in uniform....Give me an immaculately tailored Hugo anytime!

Anyway, I'm feeling excited for him as he embarks on this new phase, midway between the 2Q and 3Q (pardon the auditor in me using such lingos), of his life. New beginnings not only for him, but us.

KT (my manager) buzzed me on my mobile yesterday and asked if I can read and speak mandarin.

Me: Of course! I'm chinese !

I kindda feel like I'm into deep shite now...cos' I'll be sent to China for 3 weeks in Nov for an assignment. KT didn't ask if I can read olden chinese characters to understand financial statements and converse fluently with the native chinese speakers about their accounts!

I need a crash course in mandarin.

Gold

We are the champions, We are the champions
No time for losers 'cos we are the champions of the world!

We did well girls! It's a statement to all those out there who didn't believe we could do it.
We won each game with a decisive margin...and it is to everyone's credit that we manage to do it.

Its all about T.E.A.M.W.O.R.K

We gel-ed very well given the short amount of time we trained together...and I can already feel the closeness amongst us. We are so comfortable with each other's company and we look forward to trainings.

Now that the competition is over....there's a bittersweet feeling in me. On one hand we can finally concentrate on work without having to leave early...but on the other hand, there's no longer any trainings to look forward to in the week after work …

we'll definitely miss each other's company.

Its different with the kolics in office. Everyone is so bogged down with work and they are tuned in the Serious mode. But on court and outta the office, they are very different persons altogether.

Pictures of The Champions in action!

With the 1st Runner-Up: Deloitte

The 3rd and 4th placing goes to EY and PWC. I dunno what was the outcome of that game...so I can't really state who came in which position. I'll find out on the day of the closing ceremony dinner!

Looking forward to it! The team has already made post-event party plans at IndoChine, Clubstreet!!

The Yellow Ribbon

For once I got back before midnight.

Its my last day at that client's place. The company (as in the kolics with me...not the firm I'm auditing!) was great...but the hours are horrible.

Barely 4 hours of sleep each day and yucky canteen food!

Looking forward to the next week!!!! I'm resuming my job at orchard! Its shopping paradise everyday after work...provided I end before they close.

I will be having a jam-packed Saturday. Having the finals of the Inter -CPA netball thingy in the morning. I hope we beat the arrogant Red Ants!!

And I will be kicking some ass at the Woman's Day Out with my kolics and SpunkIce.

And what better way to catch up with my girlies than over a pedicure session after that!

Hitting the sack. It misses me badly!

UnderDog

The long hiatus from blogging....I guess it would have to be like this for awhile. Gone were the days where I can post daily entries.

Time is really something I do not have.

With working hours till almost 4am...which normal human could still blog? I think the auditors would form the smallest minority in the blogging community. In fact, I could be the only one in my whole firm who still maintains a blog with entries less than 2 weeks apart.

Firstly, a short synopsis of the DnD (I don't understand where the DANCE part came in. There was only dinner...) last Saturday. The food sucks big time. In fact when I got home, I was still hungry and had to buy a packet of noodles to keep my stomach from growling and to curb my woozy feelin' from downing too much wine and champ.

But it was a night where we get to see everyone at their best and it is a very dramatic change especially for the ladies. We didn't know how attractive our managers actually were until that night when they came in their gorgeous gowns and with their hair done up (as compared to the boring power suits, messy hair and stressed up faces in the office).

A logistical nightmare: Group Photos.

The poor photographer usually would have at least 5 digicams slinged onto each arm! And my face gets cramped up from smiling for too long and for many cameras!

The biatch-y paired up shots with my colleagues. I think I have covered all the possible permutations that evening!

I have two sets of collages but the second one hanged-up on me!! Stupid Elements! I took so much time painstakingly selecting and reducing all the photos!

And dearest kolics, I will send out the photos to you guys soon!!! I'm sorry for the loooonnngg delay.

Apart from work, I'm having my netball trainings weekly. I look forward to each session as it's such a wonderful avenue to relieve stress and gel with the rest of the gals. It has been smashing so far and we are getting along really well and much better with each trg. They are even suggesting to the management to make this netball thingy a permanent feature in the firm and form a club. We'll meet once fortnightly for training or games with other teams.

I'm all for a balanced work-play lifestyle!

Yesterday we had the inter-CPA netball tournament at Kallang. We kept a clean sheet not conceding any goals so far and have won 1.5 games. The 2nd game had to be stopped halfway due to the rain and thus the competition is postponed till 2 weeks later.
I would not reveal who we trashed and who we "half-won"...for reasons I can't rationalize but I guess its better that it be kept anonymous.

Ok....games post-poned = more trainings!!!!

Looking forward to Wed where its my last day at the horrid client and its training day!

Meanwhile, be good.

Posting this part only today cos' Blogger was down on Thurs and Friday night.

Models Inc.

Arghhh...feels like I had just ran a quarter marathon but it was merely 3 quarters of Center.

It really shows how much age is catching up with me. During my hey-days, even 5 quarters of Center won't kill me!

Now I can hardly walk up the stairs and I foresee my muscles aching even more tmw. Definitely no killer heels tmw for me.

Another training on Sat morning. It's a friendly with another of the Big 4 firm. I have no idea how I'm gonna do so many things in a single day. I have the game in the morning, a hair appointment in the noon and make-up appointment thereafter and finally to the Shang. for the ball at night!

Looking forward to see my dearly missed colleagues. Some of whom I have not seen for almost a month! It will be a blast at the ball!

Gotta go burst and clean my blisters!

Did my Houdini escape from the office at 6pm sharp. Chose the least conspicuous exit and made a bee-line for the lifts.

Reason being I had lots of last minute shopping to do for my ball tmw! Anyway, I happen to be at Paragon for dinner and we chanced upon the worst fashion runway show ever. Its by some of the labels at Paragon. Can't really remember all, but the more prominent ones are Miss Sixty and CK. Here's why the show is such a let down (not thay I went into town just for it):

It was about 7.30pm and the scene is STILL like this:

The show was stated to have started at 7pm. So there were many people huddling around waiting impatiently for the show to start but the "guests" (which I guess were merely customers who spent a certain amount at any of the labels on display) were not there yet.

Even when the "guests" arrived, they were rather unglam and clearly lacked social graces. Take for example, this lady putting her glass of soda on the pristine white runway! Gosh...

Moving on to the models. Who am I to criticize right? I probably weigh two of them added up together and I am at least a head shorter than the shortest model there. But I can't let such atrocities escape my eyes! They are carrying international labels, albeit not Gucci or Hermes sort, so I believe there has to be a certain minimum standard! Although I must say some of it is really beyond the model's control...like the hairstyle!

This lass' crowning glory looks like a wig with a side shaved off!

Now, didn't they all learn in modeling school never to slouch!?? The clothes won't look nice limply draped over hunched shoulders.

Soldiers marching. Left Right Left Right....

The redeeming grace of the show. My favourite puffed-off curry pok hair-do on this beautiful hot babe.

She's supposedly not wearing anything underneath the white trench (but I bet she has a bikini in it).

Hot Babe in another outfit. My favourite at the show.

Dunno why, but we ate at DTF today. SUCKSSSS!! It has further convinced us that CJ is 10 million times better!

More on DND laters!
