A date with Sponge Bob

I'm having the Black Sunday syndrome now. It's the feeling you get when you dread going to work the next day, The Monday Blues.

Something is really wrong with Liverpool. I can't believe the European Champions can only manage a draw with Birmingham.

It's a relaxing Sunday for us (apart from the horrible parking!) @ Holland Village. We had dunch and desserts.

Little things like knowing how much wasabi to put in my soy sauce or asking for the teriyaki sauce without me asking shows how comfortable we are with each other. Even silences are not awkward but reassuring. Somehow without saying anything at all, we will still know what each one is thinking.

Such instances gives me renewed faith in our relationship. Its inevitable that there are rough patches and monotonous dullness at times, but I guess a lot has got to do with patience and understanding one another. And of course, putting God in the centre of it all.

Baby was discussing which place we should dine at for our coming anniversary. Any place would be nice if it ends with desserts at Original Sin!

The ever-animated HamSam.

Me: Why are you always wearing the same top on the same day of the week? You wore this top last Sunday!

HamSam: That's how cartoon characters are. They are in the same clothes in every episode. Just like SpongeBob!! *breaks out in a trademark SpongeBob laughter*

Its really hard to get pissed with someone so amusing. Its 24/7 entertainment when you date a real-life cartoon character!

Fun aside,
I foresee myself being really busy the coming week with 2 netball trainings and reporting dates to meet.

Till the next weekend....

Rarity

It's not often that one gets two such currencies in a single day. Huge difference in value (and not to mention, form) but equally astounding.

And likewise, such a queer character on the subway.

The weekend is finally here!!!

Baby has been really sweet fetching me back from work the past few nights. I'm just so drained out. Don't even know if I can make it for netball training tmw morning. I really don't want to let my firm down, but the flesh is weak...

A quick mid-week entry.

Met up with some of the girlies today. Of course...who is expecting a full attendance on a mid-week??

I'm lucky to be able to squirm off work at 8-ish and it so happens the mtg venue is at wheelock place itself. If not, I don't think I would have made it.

Everyone is just so tired by 9pm. Brain dead and physically drained. We have also clocked out the mileage of our killer-heels.

Thankfully we were able to get a lift from Cutesy Pie's dad.

Anyway, my daddy is having his bowling competition this sunday! Its my daddy's re-entry to the bowling scene after 20 years!

Till then....back to work!

So Shoe Me!

The past week has been days of many late nights ...and this is just an interim audit. Can you imagine the horrors when it's the final audit come this year end?? I think I would have to bring my toiletries to work and finally get to check out the shower facilities in office.

The only consolation: I have been, and will be for the following weeks, stationed at my client's place in Orchard. It was such a relief that I do not have to go to their plant in Jurong Island!

Walking through Borders every day and spending half of my lunch time there has revived my hunger for reading again. I used to have a voracious appetite for reading during the hols when I had all the time in the world, but ever since I started work, everything else has come to a standstill. I hardly have enough time for sleep and the only publications I read these days is the Today newspaper and the NKJV .

So after church today, I made HamSam go to the library with me! As always, when I'm at the adult fiction section, he will be at the Arts section.

Mind you he isn't reading about famous paintings or about the history of Michelangelo, but he's just devouring the Dilbert comics! He has since finished reading all the available Dilbert in print, so nowadays when we go to the library, he will be reading through them the 2nd time....and even then, he could still laugh at the jokes.

Went off a very satisfied borrower cos' I manage to borrow The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger without the need to make a reservation for it! It was just sitting lonesome-ly on the shelf...boy was it a rare gem that it is found in a community library.

Come weekends, it will be a time of celebration. Not that there is any special occasion, but celebration for simply being able to go through the week at work. It takes a lot...for me at least. So there has to be something to look forward to, just to keep me going during the week.

More shoes and feasting for me this weekend!

Just got my payslip for the month of Sept. It is miserable. Truly miserable.

The Weekend That WAS

This post was supposed to be up yesterday, but Blogger.com was having some problems.

---------------------------------------------------------

It was a long weekend of feasting.

So much so that my Monday felt extra blue-ish (in stark contrast to my colourful weekend....Get it??)

I'm getting better at balancing my figures with each assignment...but I have a long way to go...given that I still take up to a day to balance one period's accounts.

We went mooncake shopping at Taka on Friday for each other's parents. It's a pity I was on leave that day cos' Shangri-La were selling mooncakes at a discount of 25% at my office's pantry!

Given that I was still taken captive by the flu bug that day, we had to opt for something light and "qing dan" for dinner.

Where else but CJ's Xiao Long Pao (I'm not a fan of DTF's paos)!

What's up with me and the acronyms right???

Baby acting cute *pukes* and I'm analyzing the menu like a forensic auditor.

Got HamSam a wallet as his birthday gift. Although I would have preferred the brown one on him, he's still the very much the traditional black wallet guy. I had plans to get a Mont Blanc one for him...but....I'm nothing but a pauper an auditor. So that grandiose plan had to be shelved. He would have to make do with the Brauny the Buffalo for now.

He ignored me for a full 15 mins arranging the cards in his new wallet. I had to occupy myself with reading the menu in chinese.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Lester's engagement party on Sat.

The happily engaged couple: Lester and Janice a.k.a The BFG and Thumbelina (hope I got the spelling right)

Glad that he has FINALLY settled down.

On a slightly related note, I told HamSam that I will never agree to having a kid (at this point I have come to accept the fact that he is the eldest and it is close to impossible for me to refuse his mother a grandson to carry on the family name) until I have a permanent sitting area/desk in the office. I can't keep up with the HotDesking concept carrying a huge load with me for 9 months!

The luxurious Mahjong Palour.

He's always getting us together to play mahjong at his place. For someone who hails from US, he's damn good at the game!

----------------------------------------------------------

Almost paid a down payment for a car on Sunday @ Suntec!! I will most probably get a OPC if I ever get one since I can never dream of driving and PARKING at my workplace. My daily salary would never cover my parking fees given that the parking rate is $5.50 per half hour!!

A classic case of Wishful Thinking below:

I was the incongruent model of Lester's SLK. Baby was just ogling over the cars parked nearby, namely the Lexus and Audi TT.

We chose the Chong Qing HotPot steamboat over Tony's ribs for dinner.

It was the least sinful buffet I have ever had in my life! I had a lot of veggies (I noe...boh hua right, eat cheap veggies!) while baby went for the kill with the beef! The spicy stock gives a good kick while the normal one is sweet (in a soup sense, not candy-sweet lar!). The desserts were delectable too...my favourite being the fried man tou dipped in condensed milk. Yummmieeee!

I want this!!!!

Dearie, Christmas is only 3 months away.....Or if you can't wait, our 3rd yr anniversary is in less than 2 months time!

MC Queen

So I'm sick. Again.

I'm on medical leave yesterday and today. Extended weekend for me.

Looks like I would have to give the Army Half Marathon a miss. My doctor strongly advised against me going for it.

Yet another workout-less week for me. Sigh...

Anyway, I'm signing up for the SGX Bull Run! Representing my firm in the wacky run round the CBD in work attire. Would be amusing.

Alright...my head is getting kindda woozy from the medicines.

Hope I would be well by this Saturday. Its Lester's engagement party.

Outz.

Amalgam

Saturday

England (1) vs. Wales (0).
Its was a weak English attempt to atone for their fiasco against Denmark. The goal by bad-boy-turned-cutie Joe Cole was flukish even.

It was good company nevertheless. Together with Fudgey and SpunkIce, we caught the game at Grapevine.

SpunkIce was exaggerating about how nice her new ring is. Anyway, the purpose of taking a picture of her ring is not cos' its VERY nice...but cos' we were comparing whose camera is better.

Looks like my trusty unknown Pentax is better than her ubiquitous Sony Cybershot!!

Don't even bother to argue SpunkIce!! The one taken by your camera is either over-exposed or too dark to be seen at all! Sheesh...

--------------------------------------------------------------------
SUNDAY

Dinner with my family together with Janet and HamSam. Its to celebrate mummy's 60th birthday!

My mumie should really just retire man...but I guess her love for teaching those irritating little imps surpasses all.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

MONDAY

Healthy living brought up-close and personal in the office!

Fruit mascots giving out apples.

But sadly, I only have a choice of apple or apples from Mr Banana Man.

And, actually...when I left the office, many had also left their apples behind. Tsk tsk....see what I mean about the Flabby Shenton Way Ladies....

The West-Side

HamSam:Where would you like me to drive you tonight?

This is definitely a wine-popping occasion!

A very flushed and happy lad.

Work has been hellish the past week and it is a forewarning of what is to come.

I do not have the time nor energy to do any workout the entire week apart from my run on Sunday. Feeling damn lousy.

I fear that I would become like one of the many office women, who due to the lack of exercise, incessant snacking and heavy lunches become fair and flabby!!

Thinking back, I now understand why my seniors told me to cherish attending courses.

Being on course means sumptuous buffets, tea-time snacks and guaranteed 6pm knock- off time. But when it comes to work.....there's no end in sight.

I will be based at Jurong Island for the next three weeks. Do they have hostels or dormitories I can put up in at the Island?? Cos' I stay in the extreme North-East and it's a freaking 2 hr journey one way!!!

I thought I had the last of the horrid west when I graduated from NTU Island....but lo and behold....my first client has to be located at yet another obscure island.

Oh well, I'm just glad I made it through the week.

Its gonna be a packed weekend.

Heading to Comex and its Mummie's Bday!!
